Previous Work

My focus in the East Asian-American market has given me the opportunity to work with companies dedicated to continuing economic and cultural relationships across the globe. These companies hold top positions in their markets, and we've partnered together to make sure they stay that way.

Client 2

Sentai Filmworks

Anniversary Relaunch

In honor of one of Sentai Filmworks' and ADV's most significant anniversaries, Sydney Side Up was tasked with creating a full-service marketing plan including live online event activation opportunities, a campaign timeline, and key marketing tasks to ensure a successful launch. Some notable points from this plan included hinging on ambitious Gen-Z marketing tactics through tiktok and youtube while fostering rapport with the property's original, much older fanbase.

Client 8

Crunchyroll

Overseas Input

Sydney Side Up was tasked with creating an executive slide deck to address discrepancies in branding and licensed product for key IP genres between the Japanese and American territories. Our presentation highlighted key differences in product availability and buyer-attitudes across both markets by analyzing bilingual, global sources. The final product offered opportunities to remediate these challenges and provide increased buyer-awareness and profitability on licensed product for the IPs in question.

Client 3

Abricadabra

Third Party Servcices

Tapped by a third-party client to address challenges related to online competition, we teamed up with Abricadabra and utilized custom scripts to efficiently organize data from competitors. On Abricadabra's behalf, Sydney Side Up synthesized the mined data into an easy to understand executive slide deck to present to the client and propose a plan of action. Our analysis led to improved metrics for the client and exposed weaknesses in the competitor's online storefront programming/organization structure.

Arigato Japan Food Tours

Fostering Cultural Appreciation

In preparation for the upcoming Olympics, Tokyo has drawn up incentives for Japanese-culture based startups. This means a lot of Food Tour companies! In order to keep ahead of the competitors, AJ and I have partnered to create a mascot-centered branding strategy to engage international visitors in the pop-culture of Japan, while still being true to Japanese standards. This ongoing project includes development of graphics for social media, an animation project, and mascot design.

Humouring the Fates

During my stint at Humouring the Fates, an international animation studio who has worked with giants like Disney, Lucasfilm, and Sony, I had the opportunity to work as a Clean-up colorist on the Yevengia Olympics bumper for NBC. Watch the full bumper here

Housing Japan

New Initiatives in the Japanese Real Estate Market

I had the honor to work with Housing Japan's marketing department in the initial stages of development of a new luxury goods brand identity, including logo, name creation, and involvement with potential licensing partners in the luxury and collectible automotive industry. We also partnered to create a unique, fully-animated bumper to use as promotional material. Like licensed product partnerships, animated promotional media is a hit in the Japanese market, but has heretofore been untouched by the real estate industry, and is expected to make waves in the coming months. This material will reach not only investors within Japan, but is also tailored to target potential investors in Singapore and Hong Kong.
